The club has been using an open mailing list for communication with members, which has grown over the years. Unfortunately, since anyone could register, there are now far more participants on the list than we have actual members.
We want to create a group containing ONLY MEMBERS, so we can communicate directly with our members without any unknown external participants.
The transition process
- In the old mailing list, there will be request mails reminding to join the new list by adding personal data (name & email) to a form to initiate the transfer
- IMPORTANT: Once invited, the member must confirm their subscription to the new mailing list (mitglieder{at]1bc-muenchen.de) (click on link in confirmation mail)
- As soon as the confirmation is received, we will remove the member from the old list (messages will be sent via the new list)
- If users do not confirm within 14 days, the process (deletion and re-registration) must be repeated
Timetable
The aim is to have all members in the new list by the end of 2024 and to switch over completely and shut down the old list.
